Kita Shuuhei was born July 29, 1981 in Kumatori, Sen'nan, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He is an anison singer-songwriter, contributing songs only to anime. His blood type is A negative and his nickname is Kitapon (きたぽん).
Kita won the first Anison Grand Prix sponsored by Aniplex in 2007, whereafter he was signed to Aniplex's music label and subsequently went to sing opening themes for Persona: Trinity Soul and Natsume Yuujinchou, two shows produced by Aniplex.
His first single Breakin' Through, which was the theme song for Persona, debuted at #26 on the Oricon ranking chart for CD singles in March 2008. His first album was released in July of the same year.
In February 2009 he signed with the music talent agency Solid Vox, which is headed by the famed anison singers and Jam Project members Kageyama Hironobu and Endou Masaaki. At the same time he moved to the related GloryHeaven label, a newly established label under Lantis.
